I had been thinking of adding this to the site for awhile, but with the news of Lone Star JR’s addition to the Lemay board, I felt like it was perfect timing to go ahead and post this.

Glen H. Curtiss Aviation museum
This is a wonderful little museum tucked away in upstate New York. Glen Curtiss is one of the pioneers of aviation, especially naval aviation and the museum features examples of motorcycles, aircraft and aircraft engines.

Harold E. Lemay museum
This museum when completed will house the largest private collection of automobiles in a state of the art museum in Downtown Tacoma. Stage 1 construction is slated to begin in 2008 with completion estimated in late 2009. Opening festivities are planned for 2010. Stay tuned for more details.

The Hydroplane and Raceboat museum
This is a wonderful low key museum dedicated to the preservation of classic hydroplanes that graced the shores of Lake Washington and features a small collection of vintage piston powered hydroplanes such as Miss Budweiser, Slo Mo and Miss Bardahl to name just a few.

Museum of Flight
If you’re an aviation buff, then this is definitely a must see, as it has an impressive collection of various era aircraft. My personal favourite is the Lockeed YF-12A complete with drone hanging from the ceiling! This was the forbearer to the vaunted SR-71. There’s also an outstanding WWI & WWII wing along with an airpark across the street containing a Concorde and Presidential airplane that you can walk thru.

Museum of History & Industry (MoHi)
This is a wonderful museum showcasing the history of Seattle and the Puget Sound, which features the glue pot that caused the great Seattle fire, an early Boeing mail delivery plane and the Slo Motion hydroplane just to name a few of its exhibits.

Penske Racing museum
Nestled inside the Captain’s flagship Arizona Auto dealership in north Scottsdale, the museum features the majority of Penske’s Indy 500 winners along with other related vehicles and paraphernalia.

Located in Tucson, AZ, this museum features the vastest array of military and civilian aircraft parked outside in the Desert sun. The museum features multiple displays including an X-15 rocket ship.

Unser Racing museum
Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the museum is the vision of Al Unser Sr. and features a variety of personal race cars and family memorabilia. Hope to visit this wonderful museum some day in the future.
