The Day Ferryboat Music Died...

Justice Robert Jackson
(Chief of Counsel for the United States at Nuremberg)
“An “aggressor,” (Jackson proposed to the Tribunal in his opening statement) is a state that is the first to commit such actions as “[i]nvasion of its armed forces, with or without a declaration of war, of the territory of another State ….”

Although I’ve tried keeping my Political views (rants) mostly absent from my racing ‘BLOB - as Auntie Harriet once called it a few years ago... Nevertheless I’ve strayed before for instance when scribbling how the Military and Religion do NOT belong in any form of motor racing in; Kingdom’s Damnation

As I’m afraid to watch ANY Television or LISTEN to any radio on the tenth Anniversary of what  arguably can be described as nothing more then the Greatest Illusion ever... Thus, nor shall I watch any of my usual Sunday programs, i.e.; SpeedCentre or Wind Tunnel with Dave Despain; Nor listen to Speed Freaks since I’m afraid they’ll all invariably bleed some sort of blathering tribute to something indelibly known as 9/11... While I wrestle over whether or not to record the Italian Grand Prix on SPEED - which after all is fully owned by the ‘Uber “Fair & Balanced” Murdoch News Empire, proud owners of FOX and London’s disgraced News of The World...

As my only concession to the HORRIFIC SHAM was the what I considered to be Ultra ‘kOOL at the time - Scuderia Ferrari’s Monza tribute scheme F2001 racecar’s - as I thought these Ferrari F1 racing chassis looked very unique in their totally sponsor-free ‘Deckle livery, even if for the WRONG reasons... Of which unfortunately tossed the world upside down - not to mention whether or not the forthcoming United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis would be held?

As I’d forgotten how long, long ago - I’d occasionally have the pleasure of listening to string quartets playing wonderful harmonies whilst riding the Washington State Ferries from Downtown Seattle to Bainbridge Island - typically to visit my late Grandma Jean, as I can only ask: Did these musicians EVER cause any sort of problem? And is the world better off today then it was 10yrs ago?
