Last Chance to see A Stoner Pound the Bricks...

So if you’re a fan of Moto GP and want to see reigning ‘Oz champion Casey Stoner’s final American appearance, then you’d better make hay for the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for this weekend’s second U.S. round, as the day’s two practice sessions will be over by the time I’ve posted this.

As the two-time ‘Aussie world champion who previously made his shock retirement announcement earlier this season will attempt to capture the crown at the Speedway once again, albeit I don’t think Stoner’s a fan of Indy and certainly not overly enthused in regards to kissing those Oh So Nasty Bricks! With Stoner still not being a fan of the Speedway’s ‘Scooterz circuit; yet it’d be amusing for Stoner to sweep the U.S. rounds this season and win Indy two years in-a-row.

Naturally, the usual suspects will be sniffing for victory, with current points leader George Lorenzo the favourite, with fellow countryman Dani Pedrosa close behind - as hopefully the announcement of “The Doctor’s” (Valentino Rossi) return to Yamaha at the expense of Ben ‘ELBOWZ” Spies for 2013 won’t overshadow the weekend, especially since Rossi wasn’t able to perform any life-saving surgery upon the recalcitrant ‘Duc’s (Ducati) that he and “the Kentucky Kid,” nee Nicky Hayden have ridden the past two seasons...

Rossi’s return to Yamaha as Lorenzo’s teammate for whom he had a severely strained relation with - prompting his departure to the Italian concern apparently leaves Captain ‘kOOL! (Spies) out in the cold, reportedly walking away from Moto GP; CRIKEYS! Although the ‘Yank may wish to swap seats with Valentino, especially now that Audi has just taken over; Err purchased Ducati.

Then there’s the “Texas tornado,” aka Colin Edwards, the senior American rider at age 38 who’s been having a miserable year upon the series new CRT (Claiming Rules Teams) category, which reminds me of the old Atlantics days when there was a class for older racecars in order to increase the grids participants... Which Stoner has rightfully lambasted the SLOWER bikes whilst Edwards seems unusually tongue-tied to not publicly spout off his true feelings about the inferior bikes...

As perhaps the FIM should instead go the ACO route of Pro-Am/Amateur ranks of allowing year old top-flight ‘Scooterz instead? Albeit without the Amateur riders mandated - or perhaps? Somehow entice the major bike manufacturers to lower the costs of these prima donna motorcycles... Nah, that would be akin to Formula 1 instituting cost capping, right? As gee Wally, I suppose it’s the economy’s fault; Oh Never Mind!

Thus, with the advent of CRT, Indianapolis will see a record 23-bikes contest its premiere class Sunday - as both qualifying and the race will be shown on SPEED TV this weekend - ‘Qualie delayed Saturday evening; with the race live Sunday morning. But as always, check your local listings...
