So the last team to announce its all new
driver line-up for 2014 was Caterham who finally revealed their two new drivers
when confirming "K-Squared," Japan's Kamui Kobayashi as
its team leader with Sweden's Marcus Ericsson making his rookie debut - largely
upon the size of the cheque he and manager Kenny Brack were bringing to the
Leafield-based squad this January.
And it's hard for Mwah to believe that Caterham's chassis
type number is already up to thee number five, (CT05) since I've been pulling
for this Minnowesqe squad ever since it appeared on the grid in Twenty-ten,
especially since it got Shanghaied by the other Lotus-Lotus XP Calladrocious
'Wayback when; Oh Never Mind!
Naturally, this year's first winter test in Jerez was
anything but encouraging for le 'Reggie runners, (Renault) although Y'all know
this situation will improve shortly, while I'd like to see the team switching
to Honda 'lumps in 2015 with the addition of Kobayashi. But don't look for this
to happen since Team Founder tony fernandez has a dealio in place with the
Renault-Nissan alliance for a cross-production venture between his forthcoming
Caterham road car and the soon to be relaunched Alpine product line...
As for the latest Caterham chassis, can't really say much
about I-T! Except it's got one of those UGLY noses, as its front end design has
been generating lots of consternation - while I certainly hope the new car goes
like HELL since the Leafield Boyz need to score some points soon!
