Obviously the mighty McLaren International
concern is expecting much from its brand new MP4-29 challenger after arguably
one of its worst seasons last year, ironically occurring upon its 50th
Anniversary.
And for Mwah, the most radical change isn't
the racecar itself but the addition of Lotuses Team Principal Eric Boullier, who I
believe has effectively replaced the vanquished Martin Whitmarsh as the
Woking-based squad's new Racing Director - while I'm ARSE-sumin' that the Woking-based
designers have ditched the problematic front Pull-rod suspension design in
favour of the de riggour more conventional front Push-rod design, as notably to date, only design guru Adrian
Newey has figured out how to make the more difficult front Pull-rod layout work
effectively, whilst its controversial rear wing suspension is causing quite the
stir amongst rival teams currently...
Also, as I've lamented vigorously, 'Checa,
nee Sergio Perez was given a "Bum Steer" to ride and was thrown out
upon no fault of himself, having found refuge at Force India whilst McLaren has
elevated Danish World Series by Renault champion Kevin Magnussen; Yes, the son
of former McLaren F1 and Penske IndyCar driver Jan Magnussen, aka 'MAGS, as
it'll be interesting to see how the 21-year old youngster progresses in what'll
be McLaren's final season with Mercedes Benz as its engine supplier before
Honda returns to the fold in 2015...
