Having just returned from Kona on the first
day of Formula 1's first winter test, naturally I'm way behind 'N playin'
Ketsup on Der Vurld de Motorsporten, Ja Volt! As apparently the theme of the
first vaunted winter test should be the esteemed Whimpey, who'll gladly pay
Y'all Thursday for a normally aspirated V8 'lump today; Hya!
As here's a very brief look at a side-by-side comparison of the 2014
vs. '13 F1 cassis, as I'll try to find some more definitive rule changes later -
while I enjoyed 'JENSE'S (Button) take upon the new car by saying it has a nice noise from inside the cockpit and
feels like it's the most powerful car he's ever driven but it's NOT! Which
I believe is due to the V-6's
torquiness; not to mention many teams calling their new racecars UGLY! Oh
brother, here we go again, eh?
And as Grizzled Journo' Joe Saward and
countless others will tells Yuh, do NOT read a whole lot into winter testing,
as after all there's a reason they call I-T the "Winter Olympics."
Yet nevertheless, it was a rather embarrassing start for Formula 1's new
vaunted returned to turbocharging era with the lack of cars running on Day-1,
whilst surely le 'Reggie (Renault) runners must be concerned with their
troubled reliability issues, especially red Bull whose had nothing but
heartache so far...
DAY 1 RESULTS
Although probably not overly telling,
nevertheless I'm sure thee original "Iceman," nee Kimi Raikkonen
enjoyed seeing his name atop the time sheets upon his return to la Scuderia...
DAY 2 RESULTS
Whoa Nellie, McLaren actually got their
Merc-powered MP4-29 to fire-up and Britain's Bloody 'JENSE took it to the top
of the time sheets on Day-2 in Jerez...
DAY 3 RESULTS
'MAGS Jr. leapt to the top of the timing
queue on Day-3 in what was billed as an impressive Formula 1 Debut for the
Danish rookie Gran Primo Piloto, as Red bull continued its disastrous test
outing with its Renault 'lump going poof! And it's nice to see Massa's name
near the top of the time sheets once again, but will it last?
DAY 4 RESULTS
The final day of F1's first winter test was a
wet one which saw a bemusing switch of fortunes with Felipe Massa topping the
time sheets for "Team 'Willy" (Williams) with his ex-team-mate
"Fredrico Suave," aka Fernando Alonso in his Ferrari F14T nipping at
his heels in second, whilst the Red Bull Boyz packed up early after another
miserable day of testing...
