F1: The Sauber Sideshow!

I find it a 'Wee bit pathetic over how gripped I was by the courtroom drama playing out over what can only be defined as the Sauber Driver-Gate follies! Making me comment to thyself the following preceding watching the encore presentation of the Australian GP...

Hell hath NO Fury like a Dutchman Scorned!

As A-L-L I've got to say for "Guido-duh-Dutchman" is Good For You Mate! And FU Sauber and Monisha Kaltenborn! As it's refreshing to see a driver tell the establishment you're NOT gonna treat my broken contract like a piece 'O smeared toilet paper!

Although I've been a huge fan 'O this little "Privateer" F1 team since its beginnings, with the likes of 'Ol "Heinz 57," (Heinz-Harald Frentzen) but mostly the  1990's, with such driver's as thee original 'Iceman, nee Kimi and His Oomphlats; Hya! (Raikkonen) partnered with "Quick Nick," (Heidfeld) "Mean Jean" (Alesi) Johnny Herbert and Felipe Massa to name just a few. Going so far as to purchase a Sauber F1 cap in Der Fatherland, no less, Ja Volt!

Yet, I couldn't agree more with good 'Ol Bloody 'JENSE's (Button) statement about how we shouldn't be throwing the "Safety Card" round willy-nilly! As Sauber team boss Kaltenborn's continued warbling on 'bout safety really pissed me off!

AS I was thrilled to read from afar, how the Australian Magistrate's hearing  the FREAKIN' Sauber stepping into Du-Du mess weren't impressed one iota with this tactic and actually glowered at Sauber's team lawyer continuously wankering on 'bout "Driver Safety," telling him to move along; Hear-Hear! Not to mention telling Sauber that  they must uphold the Swiss Arbitration Board's ruling along with Giedo Van der Garde's claim being valid for ALL countries, not just Australia!

As apparently somebody from afar? Perhaps Uncle 'Bernaughty himself? Knocked some sense into these two parties after Sauber got to sit out Friday's FP1 (Free Practice) session  with Van der Garde's lawyers threatening Contempt Charges, asking for Monisha Kaltenborn to be jailed and seizure of ALL Sauber F1 Team assets; YIKES! With Giedo making the rounds in the Albert Park Paddock, before the Dutchman gave up his attempts to drive in the Australian GP with further (legal) discussions held between the two parties out of the Camera eye...

And whilst I'm happy for Sauber's uplifting performance On-track Down Under at Albert Park, where F1 rookie Felipe Nasr scored the highest finish ever by a Brazilian driver in his maiden Grand Prix, i.e.; finishing ahead of the likes of Ayrton Senna, Nelson Piquet, Emerson Fittipaldi and Rubens Barrichello with an outstanding fifth place finish. Along with team-mate Marcus Ericsson finishing eighth, also scoring his maiden F1 points, the first by a Swede in some 26-years...

Nonetheless, I enjoyed "Niki-the-Rat's" (Lauda) terse comment 'out Sauber's driver contract handlings as simply Negligible! Whilst ex-Sauber F1 Driver Nico Hulkenberg seemed unsurprised by their shenanigans, implying he'd experienced their heavy handedness before. And I have to say, I'm certainly NOT a fan of the 'lil Swiss team's management for sure! As think I'll attempt replacing my Sauber team hat with a Marussia one instead now...

As once again, I find it refreshing that for once, a driver came out on top, as thankfully it's all over now, although not sure if Giedo will ever have a future in Formula 1?

As the 29yr old Dutchman said it himself, that his future is most likely over in F1, yet at least thanks to his backers, the EU $15m settlement should help lessen the blow, as Giedo will seek refuge in the World Endurance Championship now...
