Spotted the following obituary notice (last
week) when purusing my plethora of daily news sites... As 'Duca, aka Gerard Ducarouge is
indirectly (partially) responsible for my Formula 1 Baptism! As a Twenty-something
wide eyed apprentice, it was 'Duca's breathtaking JPS Lotus 98T that captured
my heart towards thee pinnacle 'O motorsports, nee Formula 1.
As that captivating black John Player Special
was piloted by another mesmerizing light, that being the mercurial Ayrton
Senna, as I still somewhat recall my debutant Grand Prix viewing via the
Telescreen being his first victory in the "Motor City," the Detroit
Grand Prix in 1986...
While I enjoyed longtime veteran F1 Journo' Maurice
Hamilton's look back at the Frenchman simply known as 'Duca, who produced a
variety of Grand Prix winning chassis for Ligier and Lotus, not to overlook his
Hat Trick of 24 Heurs du Mans wins for Matra...
