It's a Sad Sad Day! When one of Grand Prix
Motor Racing's staunchest supporters nation is unable to hold a world class
Formula 1 race due to financial difficulties, which surely must make the top
brass at Daimler AG wince?
As reportedly Hockenheim circuit's boss has
said Nein in regards to hosting a hastily arranged German Grand Prix at his venue this July. And
who can blame him? After the atrocious lack of
Fans attending last year's event at the once mighty circuit.
As Don't blame Hockenheim, as it seems like a
long running farce over the STUPENDOUS price of F1 tickets, Ja Volt!
UPDATE
By now Y'all know that this year's German
Grand Prix is truly dead, with the famed Nurburgring saying Nein to FOM's
monetary demands...
As originally I was loathe to scribble my
thoughts upon Uncle Bernaughty's perceived "Heavy Handedness" in this
whole mottled affair... Yet, doesn't it seem a 'Wee bit ironic that Messer
Bernard Ecclestone goes on trial for bribery in Der Fatherland, writes a cheque
for $100m to wash his hands of the entire affair...
And then viola, "Wink-Wink,
Nudge-Nudge," both the Nurburgring and Hockenheim circuits are unable to
come to financial terms with Mr. E! 'Co-inky-dense; Uhm? And not even the might
of Daimler AG willing to step in and cover portions of the certain financial losses
was not enough to sway Uncle Bernaughty? Just sayin', as Don Henley once crooned: "GET OVER IT!" Niki Lauda, as your cow-towing to
Bernie Ecclestone is disappointing to say the least! Like really, NO solution
could be found? Oh Never Mind!
