legendous' Harlem Globetrotters for nearly a quarter of a century during their
Heyday...
Although I cannot confirm I-T, or swear to
it, nonetheless, I believe that I saw the GURR-REAT! Meadowlark Lemon as a 'Wee
lad when my Grandfather took me to see them perform at what will always be
simply the Coliseum to Mwah, 'Wayback in Thy early 1970's. In a time when the
future NBA World Champion Seattle Supersonics were but a glint in Seattle's eye
- Long before the likes 'O "Downtown" Freddy Brown, Lenny Wilkens,
Slick Watts to name just a few Supersonics Greats!
Actually not even recognizing our beloved Supersonics until those two
championship seasons - A further decade-plus would pass, until I began
attending games with "Stick 'N Ball" devotee Marcus at then the Key
Arena during the George Karl era; but I digress...
As Meadowlark Lemon was the face of the
Showbiz' Globetrotters and as their
Ringleader, played in an incredible 16,000 games during his lifetime near and
abroad!
