Surely most Open Wheel Racing Devotees will be
engrossed with Thy action occurring Down Under, righto? With NO Bloomin' idea
if Sebring will even get a sniff upon Fox Sports-1?
The 64th running of the venerable Sebring 12
Hours endurance race will take place
this Saturday, March 19th, reportedly waving the green flag at 7:15AM Pacific -
whilst I've got ZERO idea if Fox Sports-1 (FS1) will even Dare airing any
coverage of the race?
And it's pretty annoying how difficult it's
trying to get any definitive information upon who's racing more than a
Fortnight out, since apparently those in the know are worried about our Uber
Short Attenzione Span; where'd my socks go, and did I take the garbage out?
Since after all isn't there some DUFUS named
Trump making the rounds on FS1's Seester' channel Fox News? Oh Never Mind!
Sadly, Thy Cheepster's' decided to focus
solely upon his GT Le Mans programme, as the Riley-Ford Daytona Prototype's
have been retired, thus eliminating one potent challenger vs. the defending
winner Action Express Racing's Mustang Sally'; Err
Sampling Corvette DP.
And I've already scribbled 'bout Scotty
"Scooter" Pruett moving over to Action Express Racing (AXR) this year
for the endurance races, as most likely Pruett will concentrate upon driving
the team's second car, the #31, although he spent time in both entries during
the recent test.
Last year's AXR enduro' specialist &
Overall winner le 'Hamburgular, aka SeaBass or better known as Sebastain
Bourdais is now driving for IndyCar rival team owner Chip Ganassi behind the
wheel of the No. 66 Ford GT - with last year's GT LM class winner Ryan Briscoe
co-driving the Seester' No. 67 Ford GT.
Meanwhile, once again, the battle I'm most
interested in revolves round Thy Pacific Northwest Homeboyz' GTD (Daytona)
class's #23 Alex Job Racing/Team Seattle entry, in Thar Shiny New rendition of
Porsche's venerable 911 GT3R
As Alex Job will be seeking his eleventh Sebring 12
Hours class victory - as the defending GTD class winner, having snatched
victory from the Dodge Vipers last year with under two minutes remaining; Aye
Karumba!
And while the more current P2-spec
Ligier-Honda of Michael Shank Racing with French Speedster Olivier Pla at
the controls led the way in the two day Pre-race test session, don't read too much
into this as Sebring's notoriously bumpy WWII Airfield runways surface is
legendous' for tearing cars apart, not to mention driver's fillings; CRIKEYS! Which
in-turn, likely should make the Corvette DP's the favourites to win again in
their final outing at the venerable Floridian race circuit.
As I plan to
Drop-in to imsa.com's live Internetz' coverage sometime during Thy race,
primarily the last several hours since it'll be the ONLY way to hear I-T live.
Which will be a Win-Win for Mwah, since I really enjoy the wry, enthusiastic
tone of John Hindhaugh calling of the race, and they Don't Barrage Us with
incessant Commercials...
