Former F1 Star Robert Kubica confirmed for upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed

Is the "Krakow Kid" on the comeback trail to Formula 1?

As Y'all should know by now, recently ex-BMW Sauber F1 Team Standout Robert Kubica finally made his way back behind the seat of a Formula 1 chassis after an agonizingly long six-plus years hiatus, after his horrific Rallying Shunt Wayback in early 2011.

And as typical here in Nofendersville, hard to believe it's already been five years since I harvested my last story 'bout Messer Kubica, who was then suffering from another setback towards recovery, when re-breaking his leg when slipping on ice.

Yet Robert's since gone onto return to racing in late 2012 and then promptly win the World Rally Championship's inaugural WRC2 title in 2013 before moving up to what good 'Ol Awntie Harriet would call the B-I-G BOYZ', when Kubica became a Fulltime WRC competitor for a privateer effort prepared by FoMoCo's (Ford Motor Company) Factory M Sport squad, with mixed results before grinding to a halt last year, albeit reportedly amassing 14 Stage wins during his WRC career.

Next, believe Kubica stirred up anticipation towards a possible Formula E debut earlier this year. With hopes of contesting this year's New York event, July 15-16, the current 2016-17 season's penultimate rounds.

Along with a short lived test outing for the privateer World Endurance Championship (WEC) byKolles LMP1 effort for this year's Le Mans, before abruptly walking away.

Now comes word that the likeable Pole' will participate in this year's Goodwood Festival of Speed, June 29-July 2; where he'll chauffer a 2012 Lotus E20 Formula 1 chassis during the Hillclimb segment.

Hmm? Interesting how all of the speculation over Kubica's possible return to F1 center round his private test aboard le Reggie's Enstone base's former namesake's Lotus E20, in a 2012 F1 chassis, presumably the very same mount he'll occupy at Goodwood, eh?
