As Y'all know that legendous' Cry: Look, Up in the
Sky! It's a Bird, it's an Aeroplane; Tuh-Duh-Duh-duh!
A year ago, Japan was reveling in its own
unique version of "The Double," upon Japanese pilot Yoshihide Muroya having
won that year's vaunted Red bull Air Race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway,
whilst his fellow countryman Takuma Sato had won that year's Indy 500. As Muroya would be
crowned the 2017 Red Bull Air Race Series Champion.
As I've got Zero Clue upon who's won this
year's just concluded Red Bull air Races at Mother Speedway. Although I suppose
I should have checked the Red Bull Air Race Championship's calendar before
beginning this story, Eh? Since I was unawares' that the Date had changed again
for the third year in-a-row...
Meanwhile, last year's Indianapolis Air Race
ironically marked the 70th anniversary of Chuck Yeager breaking the illusive
Sound Barrier in the Air, when he piloted the Bell X-1 Rocketship named
Glamorous Glenis past Mach 1 on October 14, 1947.
While another piece of History was being attempted
to occur upon this same Day in History. Yet it wouldn't be official until the
following day...
Yet the above Aeroplanes' and Rocketcar, as
the Thrust SSC oozes more irony having been steered by a RAF Fighter Pilot. All
pale in comparison to arguably my favourite aircraft of All-time, the Lockheed
SR-71.
Which ironically or Karmically, I was reminded
of recently when listening to another Clive Cussler "Who-Done-It"
action thriller. Where the "good Guy" Curt Austin, who's not related
to Steve Austin; Oh Never Mind! Is whisked secret fully Overseas Somewhere,
since time is of the essence to save the Damsel in Distress... Aboard a lone,
remaining clandestine specially configured CIA SR-71 "Passenger
Hauler!"
Which leads perfectly into another
languishing (web) link I've been sitting on; Err floundering in thou Driftwood
upon Nofendersville Isle. Revolving around this very same aircraft! Hey, what
can I say? Since after all we're definitely NOT speeding towards an IndyCar
race anytime soon. Since we're in the Doldrums of another ridiculously L-O-N-G
Winter's six months Hibernation, Sigh'
