As Thar All from Christmas Present, or is it
Christmas Past?
Otay,
Yuhs already know that 'Ol Burt Bandit' Reynolds has raced off to that Shopping
Mall in the Sky, and perhaps heard that a few of his personal vehicles quickly
made Thar way to thou Auction Block. But did Y'all hear what they ultimately
went for?
Yet thee Bandit' wasn't the only noteworthy
Celebrity who had one of his Fine Rides going underneath thou Hammer. As 'Ol
Slow Hand, aka Eric Clapton, who I grew tired of seeing struttin' round various
F1 grids with 'Ol Uncle Bernaughty, nee Mr. Bernard Charles Ecclestone - regularly
in la Scuderia yellow polo finery... Probably Ain't feelin' too blue over
letting go of one of his past Ferrari's.
Since some of us after
all, will be having a Blue, Blue Christmas, Righto? Although I'm foregoing the
traditional "Blue-plate Special" and opting for thou Hawaiian special
Pizza for X-Mas Dinner instead...
Whilst continuing thou theme; Err colour hue
'O blue, how could I pass up an article about an unknown Dodge Charger in that
ubiquitous "Petty Blue," Eh? Even though talk 'bout Chargers 'N
'cuda's in racing parlance always makes me think of Dan Gurney and his All American
Racers Chrysler wares...
And speakin' of the late Daniel Sexton
Gurney, how many of Yuhs know he once scorched the Brickyard's tarmac for four fully
"blown" laps aboard a 1976 Buick Regal Century Pace Car, for which
engineers had to replace the tortured Goodyear, or was it Flinstone' rubber? after
his mock qualifying run!
Although it was actually Country Music Star and
Part-time NASCAR Driver Marty Robins behind the wheel of the '76 Buick Century
regal Pace Car...
And lastly, another name from thou past makes
a pleasant return, even if I won't have one in thou garage anytime soon...
As lookie' Thar
Mom, I managed to not scribble a single Bloody word 'bout FoMoCo' or the Blue
Oval in thoust post. Whilst I'm fairly certain my ride to X-Mas Dinner won't be
as enthralling as Thanksgiving's was...
And Check out
Santa's latest Radd' Ride, which is Definitely an "One Up" on those
regular Hellcat Challengers!
Whilst watch out
Y'all, GrandMaMa's behind thou wheel!
