As the Heralded? Class 'O 2020 IndyCar Drivers await
Thar inclusion in thou Field of available, remaining chariots...
By now, certainly Y'all know that Thee
Hardest Workin' Driver in IndyCar's nee Conor Daly's landed the ride of the #20
Ed Carpenter Racing's (ECR) for the upcoming Twisties' portion of the IndyCar Calendar.
Along with running a third ECR entry at Indianapolis.
Giving the Noblesville native a 13 race
campaign this year alongside The Boss' Fast Eddie', aka Ed Carpenter and Rookie
IndyCar Up-comer Rinus VeeKay.
And we also know that Dale Coyne, and perhaps
with some Help from His Friends Top Jimmy' (Vasser) and James "Sully"
Sullivan?
Has unceremoniously Dumped le Hamburgular',
nee Sealmeister B', aka SeaBass' or simply Sebastain Bourdais - in favour of a
relative unknown Rookie "Pay Driver" named Alex Palou, plucked
from the far away Japanese Super Formula series.
Whilst we're awaiting confirmation of Thee
Great Santini's (Santino Ferrucci) return to Coyne's Alphabet soup Brigade this
year, and which Car Number he'll campaign? Although I'm still guessin' it'll be
the vacated No. 18.
Not to mention that DCR Engineers Craig Hansen and
Mike Cannon have both "Left the Building," with Hansen moving onto
Arrow McLaren SP as its Chief Engineer. While Cannon will become Scott Dixon's
Race Engineer at Chip Ganassi Racing...
And we All know that TK' Follow-your-Schnoz!
Kanaan wishes to Cap his Illustrious IndyCar career with one final "Round
the Bases" Send-off season, but is apparently struggling to find the
necessary Dinero.
While Kanaan's Wingman, nee Brazilian team-mate
Matheus Leist is effectively
gone, with his move to Sports Car racing, ironically at the same team Bourdais
has joined Fulltime.
Along with the Uber Quiet Carlin Racing
plan's still unknown, besides running two cars, Thars' a minimum of four seats
still up for grabs, kinda-sorta.
Since you'd have to Arse-sume' Max Chilton
will be somehow involved at Carlin, whilst the names of Sergio Set Camara, Dalton
Kellett and 'Ol Narly Pinball', aka Charlie Kimball are
being thrown around.
Also DragonSpeed, run by Elton Julian has
announced its intensions to run six races this year, reportedly the Driver
hasn't been confirmed, albeit you'd expect Ben Hanley to return, with their new
IMSA Sports Car LMP2 team signing Colin Brown having an outside chance.
Will DragonSpeed actually Fulfill 2020 Commitment?
But it's Not all Doom 'N Gloom for Indy Cars,
as 'Ol R', aka Robin Miller has just reported that Dreyer & Reinbold Racing
(DRR) will increase its IndyCar presence to four races this year with the
addition of St Pete, the Indy GP and Toronto complimenting its traditional Indy
500 programme, with Sage Dangerboy' Karam at the tiller.
And Marshall Pruett notes that the Smallest
Minnow on the Grid, Juncos Racing is hopeful of returning this year for more
than it's paltry two outings last season. Although it certainly made Headlines
last May at Indianapolis!
Alas, hopefully soon the final pieces of this
year's 2020 NTT IndyCar Series Grid will fall into place, especially since
IndyCar's vaunted Spring Training at Circuit Of The Americas on Feb 11-12 is
right round thoust corner.
Whilst suddenly I'm left ponderin' who has to
Pay for the Mandatory Airscreen Kits and how much that increases the price of
each Dallara DW12 racecar, as the first batch of 27 Chassis Update Kits makes
it's way thru the IndyCar Paddock...
