By now, for those of you who actively follow
MotoGP, then Yuhs already know that the 2020 Season's first Two Rounds have
been Cancelled, i.e.; Qatar and Thailand, albeit the latter may be in the
"Postponed" Colum? A la the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix supposedly
is. And apparently has been pushed to early October instead.
And although the FIM and Dorna have published
a revised 2020 MotoGP Calendar proclaiming that the Championship will begin now
on April 5th at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin.
One must wonder if the Race will occur after
the City of Austin just Cancelled its hugely popular and lucrative South By
Southwest (SXSW) Festival for the first time in 34yrs due to concerns of the
influx of International Travelers that would be attending this yearly event.
Having just learn that Austin's Travis County
has Declared a State of Emergency calling for All Public Events of over 2,500
People to be Cancelled on a Case-by-Case basis...
As I know it's Not
the most important thing regarding this serious Health issue affecting the
entire Globe. But a side effect that will probably go unnoticed is the Harmful
financial effects it imposes upon the Sport's Unheralded Competitors...
MotoGP and Corona Virus: Where to from Here
UPDATE
The Sporting landscape is changing on an
Hourly Basis if you haven't already noticed, with basically the entire World of
Sports being Shut Down due to the ever increasing threat of the Corona Virus,
or Covid 19 Pandemic sweeping the Globe.
After Qatar was Cancelled and the Thai MotoGP
race Postponed, Austin and Argentina have also been postponed, with the latter
three MotoGP events being rescheduled to Fall.
