I first read of the latest two NTT IndyCar
Series Season Changes via Racer's Robin Miller yesterday, when he noted that
Road America was slated to move from its current June 21st Date to Toronto's
Cancelled July 12th Date, along with the Cancellation of Richmond's June 27th
event.
And Kudos to IndyCar for announcing this
today, since I thought they'd pull the usual Bury the Bad News Friday afternoon
Press Release "Dump" instead...
Although the June 6th Texas Motor Speedway
event still opens the stinted 2020 IndyCar season, the July 4th Indy GP now
becomes the second event with Road America Hosting a Double Header event July
11-12 instead.
Meanwhile, although I first Heard 'bout it
via For The Love of Indy's Raymond Hando awhile
ago, the Racer article below reiterates my Governor Kate Brown's current
Decree, that Oregon is Banning All large gatherings of More than 250 people
thru the end of September, which will throw a Monkey-wrench in the intended Sept
13th Portland IndyCar race Date.
Yet I find it more
telling that there's NO Mention of the currently scheduled Laguna Seca Sept
19-20 Double Header event in the updated calendar news, as I think California's
also got a similar large Crowd Gathering Rule in place, also thru September? So
Stayed Tuned for more potential IndyCar Schedule revisions...
